Buckets with a Name

So, I found these super cute buckets at Target in their dollar section. (Gotta love the dollar section there)
I started thinking,........ personalized.......crayon buckets! These turned out to be perfect for just that and my two love them. The letter stickers I used are THICKERS from American Crafts in the Root Beer Float style.  They aren't strong enough to stay put when little fingers pick at them but with a bit of super glue or hot glue they stay where you want them.......on the bucket. lol

Favorite 5 Friday

Friday is here again! Yay!!! We've had a crazy, fun, busy week. The twins started speech therapy with a new therapist and shopping for/purchasing "big boy" beds and bedding are just a couple of the highlighted events of the week. Looking forward to sharing with you their mini room makeover.
*insert squeals of delight*
So excited about changing things up. With that said it's also had me all weepy and emotional because with the arrival of these glorious new beds comes the sad farewell to the cribs. It's not like I REALLY want to keep them, goodness, by the time we are ready to have another, I know I'd want to buy all new stuff. No, it's simply the saying "goodbye for now" to the baby phase. A phase I'm not quite ready to leave. But that's how it goes for me, each time I come to the place where I have to pass things along, I become sentimental. That's okay, I think. I know that I always feel better once I'm rid of the items that cause the distress, it's just getting to that point.

I'm not sure what it is with me and yellow these days but I feel as if I've fallen in love with the color.

Would love to have/use this paper I found on twopeasinabucket.

Since I already have an extra crib spring, I'm thinking I might try this (I'd make it more masculine for sure) in the boys room for hanging artwork. They love to paint and color but our refrigerator is only so big.

S'mores Cookie Bars

Now, I can't remember where I found this recipe I'm about to share with you, but whoever came up with it was a genius. These are scrumptious! All the gooey goodness of a s'more without all the hassle and mess. Try them. You'll love them.

S'mores Cookie Bars

1/2 c. unsalted butter, room temp
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. graham cracker crumbs (about 8 crackers)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
4 regular size milk chocolate bars
1 1/2 c. marshmallow fluff

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or line an 8 inch square baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light. Beat in egg and vanilla.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix on low speed until combined. Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. Don't worry if it seems thin, the baking powder will allow it to rise.
Place chocolate bars over dough (break to fit a single layer) then spread marshmallow fluff over the chocolate bars.
Finally top the fluff with remaining dough by forming the dough into sheets with the palms of your hands and laying it down. Don't worry if dough doesn't cover everything. It will spread.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until lightly browned. If the top is browning too quickly, cover with foil for the remaining time. Cool completely before cutting the bars. If they aren't cooled completely, they will crumble when cut.
Makes 16 to 20 bars

Hope everyone had a great week!

Mine was busy but fun. We started our week with a visit from family. My parents and sisters stayed with us for a few days. We spent some of our time together going for a walk, playing at the park, went to a local seafood restaurant, did some shopping.

The rest of the week was back to our normal routine, with the exception of one of my boys getting an upset tummy. Poor little man! It didn't last long, he's already back to his fun little self.

Okay, so here are my "Favorite 5" from this week.

Favorite thing about this week was watching my little sister play with B & F.

They are in awe of her and love it when she gets down on their level to bounce or chase. Love it!



Love this layout I saw from Cookielover over at twopeasinabucket.

The boys aren't big fans of dinosaurs but I just love this bedroom from PotteryBarnKids.

I love the colors, browns and greens, and the plank wood artwork on the wall. There may be a DIY of that coming soon. ;o)

These meatballs from WhipperBerry look fantastic! Definitely want to try them.
