Decorating for Fall

I love FALL! It is one of my favorite seasons. Watching the leaves change, enjoying the cool weather,  the comfort of soups and breads. So, my nap time crafting continues. lol To start out my crafting and decorating this season I put together a trio of wreaths. I put together a tutorial so I could share it with you. It is very easy to assemble these and they were low cost.
The cast of characters.......three small twig wreaths, artificial berry sprigs and ribbon. That's it! Easy so far, right?

(After I put them together I decided against the green ribbon for this project but it was already in this picture. Oops.)

Next, I cut the berry sprigs apart and slid them between the twigs. They fit pretty tight so there was no need to glue them in place.
I added some more berries.......

and some more until it was nice and full.

Tied on different lengths of ribbon and........

there you have it. Three sweet wreaths to welcome us at the door.

Love, love, love how they turned out!
Also, I wanted to share this cute little piece of happiness that I put together
with some scraps of fabric and ribbon.

Isn't it just so sweet?!!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed looking around!

Ground Shots

I saw this challenge on Becky Higgins' blog. Taking ground shots of the things around you. Although I missed the challenge I wanted to play around with the concept just a little. From my results I can guarantee that I'll be trying more of these types of shots. So fun! Taking pictures from this angle give such a different perspective and I love it! Be inspired!

Project Life

Yay! My {Project Life} kit came in the mail yesterday. I'm super excited about working on this throughout next year. This is something I've never done before but look forward to the challenge. Taking on this project will be a great way to look back over the course of a year and see how our daily lives were in 2011. Those humdrum moments that make our lives unique. I try to treasure all the normal, mundane activities throughout our day. This is our story, it is a great story, one worth sharing and remembering. This is what I want to pass on to my boys by telling their stories through scrapbooking. You are what makes your story amazing!

Project Life kits are designed as a way to document a year in the life of you + your family. The kit comes with everything you need, minus pictures. It's full of journaling cards, page protectors, tabs, stickers and so much more. The album is really cute too. To get your own kit or to check out more great ideas by Becky Higgins go here .

So inspiring, creative, exciting!

Hours of Fun

Yesterday, my husband and I found this great tent for the boys at BB&B. The twins have played with different ones are friend's houses and I've been semi-looking for one since then.
After watching me struggle trying to put it together, D had it up in a snap. That's what husbands are for, right? Anyway, the twins had a blast crawling through the tunnel, climbing in the tent. I foresee hours of fun with this tent, which D calls video games and scrapbooking. lol I'm not so sure about that, but we'll see!

Puzzle Project

A friend of mine was telling me about a project she saw recently. The project was a picture puzzle. Using wooden blocks, different colors of scrapbook paper and pictures they decoupaged the blocks to create different puzzles when put together. From her description, this is what I came up with.......
I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. (My adorable boys!)

My two cuties like playing with the blocks, they haven't figured out the puzzle part of it yet but I'm sure it won't take long. If you didn't want to use them as a puzzle though, they could always be used as a sweet way to display different pictures. I have mine sitting on the fireplace mantle for safe keeping. The cuties also like to chew on everything. lol

Craft Night

Last Tuesday I hosted a craft night for some friends of mine. We had a blast! I put together a simple project that we could finish in a couple hours. Using Mod Podge we applied scrapbook paper and pictures to small canvases. They all came together beautifully and I know everyone left feeling very pleased with their craftiness. Here are some photos from the night.

The adorable finished projects! (and adorable pictures of those sweet little boys)

What a mess we made!

This fabulous group of women are a daily inspiration to me. I can't say enough good things about them.
I'm so thankful to have such wonderful, amazing friends in my life.
