Fountain Splashes

My husband and I have started taking the twins to the mall on Friday nights just to let them walk around without the stroller. One of the best parts (the twins think this is the best part as well) is the outdoor shopping area. That's where the fountains are.........I think you can guess why the twins would think this was the best part. WATER!
Yes, this is my son, the climber extraordinaire! Watching him take running leaps toward the fountain is something quite incredible to see. He has no fear about doing such things.

He was so excited to be outside, next to this glorious fountain, with arms and hands free from being held that he was screeching with delight.
Daddy had to get a hold of this climber. I was so sure he was going to make it inside before we could stop him. Thanks daddy, for coming to the rescue!

I adore these nights out with my little family! They are what make my heart sing!
So, here you have another night with the Kinsaul family!

Always Growing

It seems like I find myself in this same place time and time again. Going through out grown clothes. It's only natural, really, to go through this over and over again. Still it always catches me off guard. I know when it's coming, the simple fact that the twins are growing up makes that pretty clear. Last night I went through the twins clothes, pulling out the ones that no longer fit. Doing this simple task alone brings tears to my eyes, an ache in my heart. The realization that my babies are growing up. They will never again be infants, small and sweet with their intoxicating baby scent. They are toddlers now, little boys full of energy. In a few years we plan to try for another little addition to our family. The thought occurs to me yesterday, as it always does when I'm doing a task such as this, that maybe this is it. What if we aren't able to have another?! Panic sets in and I think, "Maybe I shouldn't be so hasty to give away all our baby items. What if this was it?". I regain my calm, I'm able to assess the fact that passing them on to others who need them is a worthy reason for me to be hasty in giving them away. After all, they may not be wanted after too long a time and then I'll be left keeping them in storage. As I tell myself over and over the reasons for such changes and how everything is going to work out, I remember, as I did the last time, that if all else fails we have been blessed with the most amazing twins boys. It's at that moment I love them even more.

Strawberry Shortcake Cake

I made this cake last week for a friend's birthday. It was amazing! It was everything you'd want in a strawberries & cream cake. Creamy frosting, strawberry soaked cake, more frosting and the cake it's self was perfection. My inspiration and the recipe for this scrumptious cake was found at . Browsing her website makes me hungry, so, I don't do it often. When I do though it's something quite wonderful. Enjoy!

brand spanking new card designs

I wanted to share with you three new card designs that I put together yesterday. They were so easy to make and if I do say so myself, absolutely adorable.
1. & 2. Are s(t)weet little birthday cards.

3. A cute "Thanks" card. (Just sent this one off to a friend for being thoughtful)
Like I said earlier these were so easy to make. I just used scraps of paper that I had leftover from other projects. Then I just let my creativity and scissors go to town. The end results I'm quite proud of.

Hot Air Balloon Festival

The Hot Air Balloon Festival was this weekend, a Friday and Saturday event. We went for our fill of local festivities yesterday. It was everything you'd expect to find at an event such as this.......crowds of people, loud music filling the air, hot weather that was pure torture, the smells of expensive but delicious carnival food, etc.
After walking around for a while we settled on a spot of grass in a bit shade from nearby tree. A huge relief after being out in the sun.
I packed the twins a picnic dinner. We were there right at dinner time and they would prefer to eat chicken nuggets from home than anything else.
The twins ran around in the grass(with us chasing after them) after they finished dinner. Because of the heat though, they both migrated back to the stroller and climbed in. Absolutely hilarious to me! They are always crying to get out of it when they are in it and here they are climbing in of their own free will.
Ummm....for those of you who may not know, water bottles are a great source of entertainment.
Helicopter rides aren't for me but I'm glad other people enjoy them.

It was a simply gorgeous day, HOT but definitely gorgeous.
How scrumptious is this funnel cake? I'll tell was divine!
My very silly husband!
I'm sorry to report that in the end this was all we were able to see of the hot air balloons.....the baskets.
We were there waiting and waiting, it didn't look like they were even close to setting up the balloons. Then the meltdowns started. I can't say that I blame them, it was hot out there. Plus, bedtime was getting closer and closer. So, we left. We took our sweaty, adorable, exhausted, sweet little boys home to get a bath and go to bed. In my mind though the entire trip was well worth it. I loved every minute of it, the heat, the crowds, the smells and sounds but especially being out with my little family.

A time for first's....

Yesterday was an incredible day in my life as a stay at home mom. I am "mommy" to 2 year old twin boys who are so energetic and excited about life. Their enthusiasm often distracts them but yesterday a miracle happened.  It was raining outside and I was explaining, like I have so many other times, that it's raining and wet outside while pointing out the window. They both stopped what they were doing and looked out the window with me. I was overwhelmed by this small thing of them paying attention to what I was pointing out. I know it was just rain but I've waited for this for some time now. Simple things fill me with joy! I am beyond proud of my little boys, such sweet little boys they are too!

So I'm a little behind

So, as you can see I'm a little behind on my posts but life has been a little chaotic. Really it's more like life happened, I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about. I had little people to tend to, dishes to wash, food to prepare, a home to clean, laundry to wash. dry. fold, plus I got caught up in reading some new books. We're talking I've finished 6 books in a month's! That's record for me! (I highly recommend the "Twilight" series........amazing!) Anyway, I'm going to do my best to keep up the writing because I love doing it. I don't think that anyone reads my blog but that's okay. This is very therapeutic for me, it's right up there with a cup of coffee, scrapbooking, baking and reading a great book.
So, let me just say that I'm happy to report that my incredible husband finished his first year of law school a couple weeks ago. I'm so proud of this man! He works full-time, goes to school part-time and still somehow has time to spend with us. If that's not amazing I don't know what is!
Also, our twins will be 2 1/2 this month. Realizing this makes my heart a little sad since this means they are halfway to being three. Didn't they just turn two???!!! Time slips away so quickly!
Where is my head? I've been jumping from subject to subject, everything is coming out just as fast as it pops into my head.
So, to change the subject once again I wanted to post a picture of one of the sweetest scenes I've ever had the privilege to see. The story of how this scene came about goes something like this. I pulled a muscle in my back last week, making bending over and reaching difficult and painful. With that being said, my sweet husband agreed to bathe our boys (something he has only done one other time). The sight of him in his uniform giving our boys a bath is such an incredible image of love that overwhelms me every time I see it.
This to my husband, "thank you for being so wonderful"!
